COVID Update
A New Season in Life
At The Gardens, the safety of our residents and staff is our highest priority. We take great pride in the early preventative measures we have taken against COVID-19, while following CDC and Health Department guidance. We are pleased to have a 100% vaccination rate for both residents and staff. We are open to visitation and masks are optional. Please do not visit if you are showing signs and symptoms of illness or have tested positive for COVID in the last 10 days.
These infection prevention protocols have been put in place with resident and staff safety in mind and are periodically adjusted based on county transmission rates and the needs of our community. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Testimonials
In Their Own Words
When it comes to selecting the best care for your loved one, we understand that the process can be very emotional and overwhelming. We invite you to hear from families who have been in your shoes in order to discover why they chose The Gardens at Fair Oaks and why they recommend it.
“Our Mother has lived on the Memory Care Unit of The Gardens at Fair Oaks for more than three years–and we are very happy with the care and comfort she gets there. The staff is compassionate and caring, management is very attuned to how things are going, and the residents seem content, well-nourished, and engaged. My brother and I both live on the West Coast now, and so it’s very important we have clear communication with management and those who care for of our Mother. They have also successfully integrated hospice into our Mother’s care services, which we’re glad to see. Finally, The Gardens at Fair Oaks’ response to the COVID emergency has set a standard for the assisted-living industry: I’ve read about the difficulties other facilities have had, and I’ve always known that my Mother’s environment has been clean and infection-free. I’ve recommended The Gardens at Fair Oaks to friends seeking assistance for their parents’ living situations, without question. The Gardens at Fair Oaks’ nursing and caregiving staff is conscientious, compassionate, and careful. We feel very lucky our Mother lives there.”
—Teddy Partridge
“My mother has lived at the Gardens for three years, and we are so happy with the staff, environment, and standards of the community. The administration is accessible and easy to work with, and we love that my mother knows everyone personally, from the administrator and heads of departments to the housekeeping, maintenance, and food service staff. When my father died two years ago, all of them came by to visit my mother.
For her 100th birthday, staff decorated my mother’s door, provided a large cake, and the whole community sang “Happy Birthday”; they made it a true celebration. There are many daily activities, from ice cream socials to bingo, outside entertainment (COVID restrictions permitting), singing, craft activities, and church services. We have found the Gardens to have a cheerful, welcoming atmosphere, with individual attention to all residents.”

“It gives me great pleasure to offer a personal testimonial regarding my many years of experience with The Gardens at Fair Oaks.Given my knowledge and history of the Bainum Family, as well as experiencing their exceptional quality of care first hand when my father had his stroke, it was an easy decision to select The Gardens at Fair Oaks, Assisted Living for my mother, (now going into her 6th year). Mom’s time at The Gardens continues to be a true blessing to both her and our family. Your facility is always kept well-manicured from the exterior and it continues to get better from the moment one walks in the door. The interior is immaculate and the attention to details equates to a 5-star hotel. There are few facilities in the area, if any, that compare. From our very first visit, there was never a doubt that The Gardens was to be mom’s new home. Both management and staff at The Gardens are unmatched in the industry. All go the extra mile to ensure a safe and comfortable environment while maintaining professionalism and loving spirits. One can tell immediately that they enjoy what they do… and it shows. My mother had a recent stay at a local rehab facility and, while there, The Garden’s staff reached out to her on multiple occasions (phone calls, had written cards, posters, etc.) expressing their concern and letting her know that she was missed. Their efforts in showing her dignity, respect and love, became her motivation to recover and return. At age 90, she is still going strong thanks to so many compassionate and caring individuals. Your activity schedule offers a wide variety of options from which to choose, including outings, entertainers, games, etc. and, as you know, Mom absolutely loves her afternoon bingo! The food quality is amazing and the menus are diverse with many tasty selections. There are few words that can be offered up to adequately express my appreciation to your team. Your operation is an A-class act and we are so thankful for choosing The Gardens. We highly recommend it and without reservation. My sincere thanks to our extended family!”
—Greg Hoffman
“The staff and facility are amazing! My mother lived here 4 years and was treated with care and respect and the gardens met all of her needs, as she was in a wheelchair. She loved all activities, art, bingo, cooking, singing, live shows, dining facility, and the staff was like a second family. When covid hit, they were able to FaceTime & zoom! Highly recommend.”
—Maria Linden
“I am so grateful for the crew at The Gardens at Fair Oaks. Regardless of what time I stop by, the staff is patient, friendly and compassionate. They have become like family. And the facility itself is the best I’ve ever visited. The moment you set foot on the property, you feel like you’re visiting a friend. Beautifully landscaped grounds, cozy living rooms, elegant dining rooms and well-situated living areas. While the decision to transition my family member to assisted living was a difficult one to make 5 years ago, bringing them to The Gardens was the absolute best choice. I know first-hand that my family is well cared for. And with the past year of COVID uncertainties, I have been especially grateful for The Gardens’ resident-first priority. Constant contact and positive, proactive communication have brought my entire family peace and clarity.”

Therapy Services
Our Rehab Team Has Expertise in: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy & Speech Therapy
Whether recovering from a recent fall requiring long-term therapy or just needing help increasing strength and balance, our dedicated team of physical, occupational and speech therapists offer the tools you need to move forward and succeed in your personal therapy goals.
We offer therapy services in our on-site senior rehabilitation gym or in the comfort of our residents’ apartments. Our therapists offer individualized services with the belief that people can improve and obtain their quality of life at any age.
The Gardens is pleased to partner with Select Rehabilitation to help our residents achieve their rehabilitation goals. A national leader in therapy services, Select is able to provide outpatient home care with therapy services to include physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Utilizing a team approach, the Select Rehabilitation therapists work closely with clients, families, physicians, and our care team.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapists focus on gait and mobility, balance and fall prevention, therapeutic exercise, pain management and assessment of adaptive equipment needs. Physical therapists also work with individuals to prevent mobility loss by developing fitness and wellness programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. Through physical therapy, clients are able to improve their muscle strength and coordination following injury or illness.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists help people who may have lost some of their ability to perform important life functions like eating, bathing and dressing, as well as ordinary activities like cooking, doing laundry or other tasks. Occupational therapists play a crucial role in assisting clients in establishing a safe home environment, providing home modification as needed, and assisting with equipment needs. Our occupational therapists develop customized plans and objectives to address self-care, vocational, and leisure goals.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy helps clients who have suffered a stroke or other injury to re-learn how to communicate through speaking, reading or writing. Speech therapy also helps those who have difficulty chewing or swallowing during meals, and helps improve memory skills so the client can perform tasks like managing medications or getting help in emergency situations. We incorporate physical exercises to strengthen the muscles used in speech, use speech drills to improve clarity, and incorporate sound-production practice to improve articulation. We also provide cognitive training and methods for communicating with the hearing impaired.
