Short-term relief where family matters
Respite care, one of four primary services offered at The Gardens, provides short-term relief for primary caregivers. It’s a wonderful way to experience life at The Gardens on a temporary basis, from two weeks to up to three months.
Because The Gardens offers multiple services including physical and occupational therapy as well as assisted living, memory care and adult day care, respite care can provide the perfect transition from those leaving a hospital or rehabilitation center, recovering from an injury or illness.
If you’re the primary caregiver for a family member and want to go on vacation or just get a break from the daily, often tiring care of a loved one, respite care at The Gardens might be the perfect solution. As a respite care resident, it’s comforting to know your loved one can enjoy full participation in the many daily activities, including games, music, exercise, movies and current events, plus special outings, and special, seasonal events including entertainers and speakers who provide an added dimension to The Gardens lifestyle.
Respite care residents enjoy a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day in our dining room with other residents. Special care is taken for any dietary restrictions.
Sometimes residents in our Adult Day Care Program enjoy The Gardens lifestyle so much they easily transition to respite care to experience living at The Gardens for a short time.
If you or a loved one wants to experience living at The Gardens before making a full commitment as a long-term resident, respite care offers the opportunity to see firsthand how living at The Gardens provides a home-like experience where “Family Matters” is not just our theme, it’s a way of living. And for more than 20 years, the Bainum family has proudly provided exceptional senior care in The Gardens and an independent lifestyle in its “sister community,” The Woodlands, which is adjacent to The Gardens.
