Physical Therapy
Physical therapists focus on gait and mobility, balance and fall prevention, therapeutic exercise, pain management and assessment of adaptive equipment needs. Physical therapists also work with individuals to prevent mobility loss by developing fitness and wellness programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. Through physical therapy, clients are able to improve their muscle strength and coordination following injury or illness.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists help people who may have lost some of their ability to perform important life functions like eating, bathing and dressing, as well as ordinary activities like cooking, doing laundry or other tasks. Occupational therapists play a crucial role in assisting clients in establishing a safe home environment, providing home modification as needed, and assisting with equipment needs. Our occupational therapists develop customized plans and objectives to address self-care, vocational, and leisure goals.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapy helps clients who have suffered a stroke or other injury to re-learn how to communicate through speaking, reading or writing. Speech therapy also helps those who have difficulty chewing or swallowing during meals, and helps improve memory skills so the client can perform tasks like managing medications or getting help in emergency situations. We incorporate physical exercises to strengthen the muscles used in speech, use speech drills to improve clarity, and incorporate sound-production practice to improve articulation. We also provide cognitive training and methods for communicating with the hearing impaired.
